‘Developing pedagogic practice to facilitate workplace learning’

Conference location: Churchill Building, Queens Park Campus, University of Chester, United Kingdom
Cost: £60 (Concessions £50 UALL members) (includes refreshments and lunch)
There will be: keynotes, workshops, poster sessions, networking.
The main focus of the conference is enable an exchange of ideas in relation to pedagogic practice to facilitate Work based learning in its broadest sense- whether for apprenticeships, work placements for full time students or negotiable work based programmes for part time students. It is aimed at academic practitioners and administrators new to the field as well as those with many years’ experience with an emphasis upon practical application.
The format of the conference will be key presentations, breakout workshops on key challenges for pedagogic practice and posters
We are seeking contributions for workshops for the following themes:
Incorporating experiential learning into a formal academic curriculum
Recognition/Accreditation of past learning
Delivery with external partners
Quality assurance for non-standard delivery
Managing student placements
Transitioning from traditional academic practice
Digital learning to support flexible learning
Mentoring and workplace visits
Administrative challenges delivering non-standard programmes
In addition we are seeking posters outlining case studies and research projects. Time will be allocated for presentation of the posters.
Proposals for Conference workshops/posters (300 words maximum) should be sent to the co-convenors by Monday 16th March.
