The theme this year is about exploring the ways in which employers, academic practitioners, and learners in the workplace co-design university study that is both flexible and fit for purpose, for example learning contracts and agreements. While the Apprenticeship agenda is now being launched more widely in higher education in the United Kingdom, continuing programmes for individual learners and corporate partners are being repositioned across the globe as an international development. Practitioners and researchers in this field are actively engaged in leading the way to challenge and transform existing practice in the workplace and the academy.
The conference welcomes papers, workshops, and posters that contribute to research, theory, policy and practice in work and learning. Conference themes may cover all or some of the following:
Leadership in the Academy
Apprenticeships and Skills
Working in Partnership
Flexible Curricula (coaching and online learning, work-based studies)
Mature Students and Social Mobility
Proposals for papers, workshops and/or posters to be 300-500 words maximum and should be sent to the co-convenors by 2nd May 2017. Details about these formats will be on the network’s website.
Expressions of interest: We also invite interests for those who would like to contribute to a panel for Employers and a panel of Students for this event (non-refereed). Details about this will be on the network’s website.
